Thermo Fisher Scientific Invests US$58 million to Expand Research Laboratory in Wisconsin, USA

Introduction:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is investing $58 million to expand its GMP lab in Wisconsin, USA.

Features:

This new state-of-the-art facility spans 72,500 square feet and includes a clinical research laboratory building. This expansion will enhance the site's chemistry, manufacturing, and control (CMC) analytical capabilities, supporting the mission to improve global health by aiding the delivery of life-changing medicines.

The investment underscores the commitment to create a healthier, cleaner, and safer world. With the expansion, the site will now deliver comprehensive end-to-end laboratory services, offering high-quality analytical support for both small molecules and biologics.

This includes biopharmaceuticals, inhaled pharmaceuticals and device testing, cell and gene therapy, protein characterisation, and mass spectrometry analysis across all drug development phases.

The new addition to the GMP campus features a versatile biosafety level 2 laboratory with a specialised liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and protein characterisation space, two large molecular suites with access-controlled pre- and post-amplification labs, and two spacious general-use labs.

This expansion will create up to 350 new positions for scientists and laboratory support professionals, adding to the nearly 2,300 employees already at the research campus.
